Synopsis

A heartwarming and educational children’s series following the journey of three adventurous sisters — Kealani (14), Kawai (11), and Keona (10) Lafontaine. As they travel to Treaty 3 Territory, they embark on a quest to learn the sacred teachings of the 13 Moons, guided by the wisdom of Midwayin Elder Sherry Copenace. Each episode takes the sisters to a new community Anishnaabe Nation of Treaty #3, where they meet resident Elders, learn Anishinaabemowin dialects, and explore the cultural significance of each Moon’s teachings. With the support of their older brother and parents, they document their experiences through art and storytelling.

The adventure begins in Kenora at a special ceremony marking the start of their journey. From there, they travel across Treaty #3, visiting sacred sites like the Petroglyphs and connecting deeply with their heritage. With each encounter, they uncover profound stories — such as the Creation of Woman in the Flower Moon teaching — where they are introduced to Elder Sherry Copenace and the spirited young Dene Dancer Olivia Lahl.

Whenever the girls focus on a meaningful object — whether it’s a moon necklace symbolizing renewal and growth, an Indigenous painting representing their ancestors, a medicine wheel embodying balance and harmony, or an eagle feather signifying strength, truth, and spiritual connection — something magical happens. These objects hold deep significance on their journey, and with each encounter, the spirited Little Current (Olivia Lahl) appears.
