When he became Wagamese at age 26, he finally discovered who he was — Muskode Pisheke Anaquat — a storyteller and sacred clown in the spirit of his Ojibwe ancestors. With this, he went on from being an abandoned child and homeless teenager to become one of Canada’s foremost storytellers and writers. His stories are based on his roller coaster ride of life, and his teachings offer guidance to undertake the medicine walk of life upon the land. He deeply believed in the healing power of stories to change the world, one story at a time. In the end, it was not enough to save him from the darkness that he could not overcome. He now looks down upon us from the spirit world to create the next chapter of his life.
