synopsis
Sparkle is a cultural holiday music special the whole family can enjoy, featuring songs from Andrea Menard’s CD of the same title. Filmed in front of a live audience at the West End Cultural Centre in Winnipeg, Andrea is joined by co-writer and guitar virtuoso, Robert Walsh, and musical friends Rhonda Trodd, Paula Costain, Daniel Roy, Darcy Phillips, Don Benedictson and Sierra Noble.
This exploration of Andrea’s life and music, catches glimpses of the seminal moments, the highs and the lows, and introduces the people who helped her to become the gem she is today. Andrea’s performance reveals her many facets: the singer, the jazz artist, the writer, the actress, the performer, the ambassador. Sparkle had its Canadian broadcast premiere on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network in December 2010 in both English and Michif.
